Bang, Bang, You're Dead is a one act play written by William Mastrosimone in 1999 to raise awareness of school violence and its causes. It is strongly based on the events surrounding a school shooting at Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon on May 21, 1998. Parental discretion is advised. A talk back with school Eric nelson EHS Administration, Tony Harmon Edina Schools Security, Kathy Ireland Edina Community Health, and Heather Haen Anderson from Connecting with Kids will follow each performance.
Mastrosimone has made the script for the play is available online for free here, with the intention that high schools put on the show "in any modest playing area" for free. His intention is to get the message of the dangers of bullying out to as many high school students as possible to help prevent future school shootings.
